KILKENNY
On Wednesday the 11th of May we went to Waterford. In the morning we got up and got ready. Then we went and had breakfast at the restaurant like the day before. After breakfast we left that the Dublin Travelodge. We drove to a small town called Kilkenny. First in Kilkenny we went to the tourist information centre. They recommended a couple of places to go to.
Once we had finished there we went to a restaurant that they recommended. It was called Kyteler’s Inn. It is a restaurant with a famous background story. Dame Alice Le Kyteler was the first person who owned the restaurant. She had been accused of being a witch and sentenced to death. It might have been because she had had four husbands who all died suspiciously. She escaped and they think she ran away to London. The food at the restaurant was really, really good.
Then Mum saw a shop that looked like it had lots of old stuff. We had a look in it. We saw some olden day bottles that Uncle Darren would have loved.
After that we went into a castle that was just up the road. It was a lot like Leeds Castle. It was called Kilkenny Castle. There was a children’s quiz. Tyler and I got a sheet. Tyler didn’t really do it but I answered every question. After that we went back to the Waterford Travelodge.
We all had a good day and we loved our lunch.
