Derry to Belfast

DUNLUCE CASTLE
On Wednesday the 18th of May we left Derry and headed to Belfast. On the way we went to Dunluce Castle. At the castle reception we got these headset things. The children’s headset told you a bit about each room in the castle and at the end of the speech he would say one thing that you had to find. I found everything except one because it was a very windy day and the things you had to find were only drawn on a piece of cardboard. I think it got blown away. The castle sadly wasn’t really standing. It was just ruins. We didn’t stay there for very long because we had so much to do. After we had a look around at the castle we went into a little shop that was across the road. We bought a few things. Tyler and I bought some potato chips. Mum and Dad bought some things too.

BUSHMILLS DISTILLERY
After that we drove to Bushmills Whiskey Distillery. When we got there we had about twenty minutes before the tour started. So we went to have a look in the gift shop. We got a couple of things in there as well. Like, I got some seeds to grow four leaf clovers. After looking around in there we had to hurry back to the meeting area where the tour would start. We got back just in time.
Our tour guide took us through the process of making whisky. We saw some of the ingredients that they used. In some rooms you could smell the whiskey. Mum and Dad liked those rooms. I didn’t and I don’t know if Tyler did or not.
Near the end of the tour the guide said that he needed some help doing something and I got chosen to do it. First he introduced me to everyone. Then he told me my job was to just push a little green button. So when he told me to, I did push the button. That played a little video about the labeling and packing process.
At the end of the tour he thanked everyone for coming on behalf of himself and me. It was quite embarrassing. Once the tour was over Mum and Dad got to try a little bit of whiskey for free. Tyler had some lemonade and I just had plane water.

GIANT'S CAUSEWAY
After leaving there we went to the Giants Causeway. The Giants Causeway is these huge hexagonal shaped rocks that are like lots and lots of steps. We had lots of fun climbing around on all of the rocks. Tyler was being Mum because she wasn’t there. He was freaking out for her when we went near the edge. We stayed climbing around on the rocks for about an hour and it took about half an hour to walk back up the hill. Because we had played on the rocks for so long, the bus which had taken us down to the rocks, had finished all of its runs.
Once we had finished playing on the rocks at the Giants Causeway, we went to have a look at a rope bridge. By the time we got there it was closed so we didn’t even get to see it.

We then drove to our next hotel. It was called the Holiday Inn Express. It was a really good hotel. On the way to Belfast we saw some amazing trees reaching over the road so we stopped and took some photos.
We had a great day. It was very tiring but very enjoyable.
